This Privacy Policy explains how RoomSpec collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our website, account system, AI room redesign tools, billing flows, and related services.

2. Information we collect

We collect account information such as your name, email address, authentication provider details, subscription status, and workspace settings.

When you use the design tools, we collect the room photos you upload, style preferences, room details, generated room concepts, extracted furniture or decor items, item matches, and related project history.

We also collect technical information such as device type, browser, IP address, approximate location derived from network information, log data, performance data, error reports, and usage events.

3. How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, provide AI-generated room redesigns, identify and match furniture or decor items, save projects to your dashboard, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, provide support, monitor reliability, and improve RoomSpec.

We may use aggregated or de-identified usage data to understand product performance, improve workflows, and plan new features. We do not use your private room photos to identify you outside the service.

4. AI processing and uploaded photos

RoomSpec sends uploaded room photos, prompts, and related project details to AI and search providers only as needed to generate room concepts, extract visible items, and find relevant product matches.

You should only upload photos that you have the right to use. Avoid uploading images that include sensitive personal information, private documents, children, faces, addresses, financial details, or anything you do not want processed by the service.

5. Payments and subscriptions

Payments are handled by Stripe. RoomSpec does not store full card numbers. We may receive billing identifiers, subscription status, plan information, invoices, payment status, tax details, and limited customer information from Stripe so we can provide paid access and support billing requests.

6. Service providers

We use third-party providers to host the application, manage authentication and database storage, process payments, monitor errors, provide analytics, send transactional emails, operate AI generation, and search for products.

These providers may process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. We only share information needed for the relevant service.

7. Cookies and local storage

RoomSpec uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security, preferences, checkout, analytics, and debugging. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work without required session cookies.

8. Retention

We keep account, project, billing, and technical records for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

You can delete projects from your workspace where the product supports it. Some backup, billing, security, or legal records may remain for a limited period where retention is necessary.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including authenticated access, database access policies, HTTPS in production, provider security controls, and limited access to operational systems.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
