RoomSpec Terms of Service

Effective date: June 7, 2026. These Terms explain the rules for using RoomSpec, including accounts, subscriptions, generated designs, product suggestions, uploaded photos, cancellations, and support.

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of RoomSpec, including our website, dashboard, AI room redesign tools, product matching features, billing flows, and related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, starting a subscription, uploading content, generating a design, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

RoomSpec is operated under the RoomSpec name. References to "RoomSpec", "we", "us", and "our" mean the person or entity that operates the Service. You can contact us at [email protected].

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to use paid RoomSpec subscriptions. If you use the Service on behalf of a business or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organisation.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, the security of your login credentials, and all activity that occurs under your account. You must tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts where we reasonably believe there is fraud, abuse, security risk, non-payment, breach of these Terms, or activity that could harm RoomSpec, users, third parties, or the Service.

3. What RoomSpec does

RoomSpec lets users upload room photos, describe their preferred style, generate AI-based interior redesign concepts, and view suggested furniture or decor items that may help recreate a similar look.

The Service is intended for inspiration, planning, and shopping discovery. It is not architectural, construction, electrical, structural, health and safety, accessibility, professional interior design, or legal advice.

AI-generated images and product suggestions may be inaccurate, incomplete, unavailable, or visually different from real-world results. You should independently check dimensions, prices, colours, materials, safety requirements, suitability, availability, delivery terms, and retailer policies before relying on a suggestion or buying a product.

4. Your content and uploaded photos

"User Content" means photos, prompts, text, preferences, files, feedback, and other material you submit to the Service. You keep ownership of your User Content.

You grant RoomSpec a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, and use your User Content as needed to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, improve, and support the Service.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload and use your User Content. You must not upload content that is illegal, invasive of privacy, confidential without permission, infringing, abusive, sexually explicit, discriminatory, malicious, or otherwise harmful.

You should avoid uploading photos containing sensitive personal information, private documents, payment cards, passwords, medical information, children, or anyone who has not agreed to be included in the upload.

5. AI outputs and generated designs

"Outputs" means AI-generated images, labels, product matches, summaries, and other results produced by the Service. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you may use Outputs for personal or business interior inspiration and planning.

Outputs may be similar or identical to outputs generated for other users. RoomSpec does not guarantee that Outputs are unique, copyrightable, commercially usable in every jurisdiction, or free from third-party rights.

You are responsible for how you use Outputs. You must not represent AI-generated concepts as professional advice, final construction plans, guaranteed product matches, or guaranteed depictions of what a room will look like after purchase, renovation, or installation.

6. Product links, retailers, and third parties

Product matches, retailer names, prices, availability, delivery estimates, images, and links may come from third-party sources or automated search systems. They can change at any time and may be wrong.

RoomSpec is not the seller of third-party furniture, decor, fixtures, or other products shown through the Service. Purchases from third-party retailers are governed by the retailer's own terms, policies, warranties, refund rules, and customer support.

We may use affiliate links or referral links. Where we do, we may receive compensation if you click a link or buy something. That does not change the price information we show inside RoomSpec, but the final price and terms are always controlled by the retailer.

7. Subscriptions, billing, and taxes

RoomSpec offers paid monthly subscriptions, including Pro and Enterprise plans. Current plan features, usage allowances, and pricing are shown on our pricing page and at checkout.

Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider we may use in the future. By starting a paid subscription, you authorise us and our payment provider to charge the selected payment method for recurring subscription fees, applicable taxes, and any other amounts disclosed at checkout.

Prices may be displayed in different currencies depending on location, browser settings, payment method, or Stripe configuration. The final amount, currency, taxes, and billing interval shown at checkout are the amounts you agree to pay.

If a payment fails, your access may be downgraded, limited, suspended, or cancelled. You remain responsible for unpaid amounts that are validly due.

8. Usage allowances and fair use

Paid plans include monthly generation allowances and other usage limits. Allowances reset on the billing cycle shown in your account or checkout information and do not roll over unless we expressly say otherwise.

We may apply technical limits, rate limits, file limits, storage limits, or abuse controls to protect the Service, manage AI costs, prevent misuse, and keep RoomSpec available for other users.

You must not try to bypass usage limits, create duplicate accounts to avoid limits, resell access without permission, automate bulk use, scrape the Service, reverse engineer non-public parts of the Service, or use RoomSpec in a way that overloads or disrupts our systems.

9. Cancellations and refunds

You can manage or cancel an active subscription from the billing area in your RoomSpec dashboard, which may send you to Stripe's customer portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless the billing flow states otherwise.

If you cancel, you may continue to access paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for, unless we must suspend access because of fraud, abuse, chargeback, legal risk, or breach of these Terms.

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started, except where required by law, where checkout terms state otherwise, or where we choose to offer a refund at our discretion. If we provide a refund, it may be partial, may exclude taxes or payment processing costs where lawful, and may result in reduced or ended access to paid features.

Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded. If you believe you are entitled to a refund or cancellation right under applicable law, contact us at [email protected].

10. Acceptable use

You must use the Service lawfully and respectfully. You must not use RoomSpec to create, upload, request, or distribute illegal, harmful, abusive, deceptive, infringing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, exploitative, or privacy-invasive content.

You must not use the Service to identify, profile, track, harass, or harm people; to process images of people without appropriate rights or consent; to generate misleading commercial claims; or to violate third-party platform, retailer, or payment-provider terms.

You must not interfere with security features, test vulnerabilities without permission, introduce malware, use stolen credentials or payment details, or attempt to access another user's account, projects, photos, generated designs, or billing data.

11. RoomSpec intellectual property

RoomSpec and its software, design, branding, logo, user interface, workflows, databases, models, prompts, code, documentation, and other materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for the purposes allowed by these Terms. No ownership rights in RoomSpec are transferred to you.

Feedback, suggestions, or ideas you send us may be used by us without restriction or compensation, provided we do not use your confidential personal information in breach of our Privacy Policy.

12. Privacy and data

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that we will process personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

We use third-party providers for functions such as authentication, hosting, storage, AI generation, payments, monitoring, analytics, email, and security. These providers may process information as needed to provide their services to us.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect user data, but no internet service is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for choosing what content you upload.

13. Availability and changes to the Service

We may change, improve, limit, suspend, discontinue, or remove parts of the Service at any time. We may also change providers, models, product-search systems, storage systems, plan names, limits, and features.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, specific generation times, exact product matching, permanent storage of every file, or compatibility with every device, browser, retailer, or third-party service.

We may perform maintenance, respond to outages, apply security updates, or restrict access if required to protect users, our systems, payment providers, or legal compliance.

14. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, conditions, representations, and guarantees, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that Outputs will be accurate, safe for implementation, suitable for your room, compliant with building or rental rules, compatible with your furniture, available from retailers, or free from errors.

You are responsible for obtaining professional advice where needed, including for electrical work, structural changes, installations, fire safety, child safety, accessibility, tenancy restrictions, planning rules, or other regulated matters.

15. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or mandatory consumer rights that cannot be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RoomSpec will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, loss of goodwill, business interruption, substitute services, failed purchases, retailer issues, design decisions, or costs arising from reliance on Outputs or product suggestions.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RoomSpec's total liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to RoomSpec for the Service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or GBP 100, whichever is greater.

16. Indemnity

If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you agree to indemnify and hold RoomSpec harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses arising from your User Content, your use of Outputs, your breach of these Terms, your unlawful conduct, or your violation of third-party rights.

For consumers, this section applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

17. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may cancel paid subscriptions through the dashboard billing flow or by contacting support if you cannot access the dashboard.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, create legal or security risk, fail to pay valid charges, misuse the Service, or if we discontinue the Service.

After termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should continue will survive, including sections about payments owed, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law, and disputes.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as posting the updated Terms, updating the effective date, sending an email, or showing an in-app notice.

Updated Terms apply from the effective date shown unless the notice says otherwise. If you continue using the Service after updated Terms take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and cancel any subscription.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory laws in your country of residence provide you with rights that cannot be excluded.

If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
